IT Ops Engineer WIN/Unix

As an IT Ops Engineer at QinetiQ, you maintain and enhance critical server infrastructures across Windows and UNIX/Linux, ensuring security, resilience and availability to support defence capabilities. You work with cross-functional teams on incidents, upgrades and automation to improve the IT estate in a highly regulated environment. • Administer Windows Server and UNIX/Linux environments across production and development systems
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests
• Perform system upgrades, patching, backups and recovery activities
• Manage user accounts, access controls and security configurations
• Support virtualised environments and software deployments
• Contribute to service improvements and automation initiatives
• Follow ITSM processes in a secure, regulated environment

• Experience administering enterprise Windows Server and/or UNIX/Linux environments
• Troubleshooting infrastructure incidents across server environments
• Knowledge of VMware or other enterprise virtualization technologies
• Experience with backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes
• Experience using PowerShell, shell scripting or other automation tools
• Experience working in secure or highly governed IT environments and ITSM processes
