We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Project Officer to join our busy Shared IT Service between Test Valley Borough Council and Winchester City Council
As an experienced project professional, you will be joining our IT Business Support Team to provide project management expertise to the IT Shared Services in project governance, risk and issue management, planning, and stakeholder communication
This is a new officer role to support the delivery of the IT programme of work required to modernise the council’s IT infrastructure and support the transformation of IT service management
Role
- We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and reliable IT Project Officer to join our IT Shared Service
- The successful candidate will be working alongside the IT Technical Project Manager, to support the successful delivery of the IT programme of works
- They will provide project management expertise, based on PRINCE2, across a wide range of projects, to time and budget
- They will co-ordinate project reports, logs, registers, and other documentation, as well as proactively organising and supporting project meetings and events
- They will be a good communicator and ensure that stakeholders are kept informed and involved as necessary, to ensure the delivery of project objectives
- The successful candidate will support the projects identified in the programme of work, while balancing the different requirements and culture of the two councils
- They will also provide general project support for the IT Shared Service in other areas of work such as process analysis and research
- It is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2028

The post is full time for 37 hours per week, but for the right candidate, we are open to discussing flexible working options to ensure a perfect fit for both parties The post will be based out of our Andover and Winchester offices, with home working opportunities where appropriate
