IT Support Engineer

In this role you join a Central London bank as an IT Support Engineer, delivering 1st and 2nd line care within IT operations and infrastructure. You will partner with the IT team to maintain secure, reliable systems in a banking environment and support hybrid working arrangements. The position focuses on hands-on administration, troubleshooting, and collaboration to keep critical services available. A 12-month FTC with a hybrid office pattern offers an opportunity to impact infrastructure on a stable, finance-focused platform.

• Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support and issue resolution within a banking environment
• Administer and maintain AD, LDAP/ADS I, security groups
• Administer and support Citrix XenApps server farm
• Manage Windows Server 2012/2016 environments (design, deployment, maintenance)
• Work with VMware virtualization environments
• Handle backups across various applications and platforms
• Design, troubleshoot, and install networking components (VLAN, routing, switching, TCP/IP, OSI)
• Maintain router settings including wireless configurations
• Use PowerShell for automation tasks (backup, Azure, EMC)
• Administer and deploy VPN services
• Manage DNS (internal and external)
• Support market data and Bloomberg exposure would be advantageous

• 5+ years of 1st/2nd line IT support and infrastructure experience in a banking environment
• Strong Windows experience across all versions
• High-level Active Directory administration (security groups, LDAP, ADSI)
• Citrix XenApps administration, maintenance and support
• Windows Server 2012/2016 expertise
• VMware virtualization knowledge
• Experience with backups and disaster recovery
• Networking design/troubleshooting including VLANs, routing, switching, TCP/IP and OSI model
• Router maintenance and wireless configurations
• PowerShell scripting
• VPN administration and deployment
• DNS administration (internal and external)
