As IT Support Manager you will lead a small team delivering robust, scalable IT infrastructure for a fast-paced hedge fund. You will partner with software engineers to align tech solutions with trading schedules and analytics needs, supporting network, servers, and data-centre operations in a high-performance environment. The role combines hands-on management with strategic capacity planning and disaster recovery, in a relaxed, innovation-driven culture. - Lead and develop a small team of IT Support Engineers
- Manage and support Dell/HP/Oracle servers, NAS, and Windows desktops/laptops
- Maintain Cisco switches, CheckPoint firewalls (externally supported) and network cabling/WAN links
- Oversee OS/app patching across Windows servers/desktops via Manage Engine
- Ensure hardware warranties and lifecycle management for servers and network gear
- Administer IT infrastructure including UPS, CCTV, access control, and security systems
- Support voice network, turrets, and externally supported handsets
- Oversee data backups, VPN, Active Directory, and O365 maintenance
- Coordinate Exchange connectivity with trading counterparties; manage market data connections
- BCP planning, testing, and documentation; annual updates and IT Committee reporting
- Manage datasets and data centre cross-connects; plan capacity for future load
- DNS changes across all domains; hardware/software upgrades and documentation updates
- Liaise with management and trading staff on new IT requests and changes
- Maintain commercial relationships with third-party market data providers
- Ensure IT documentation is current and accessible to staff
- 10+ years IT Administration experience
- Financial services IT experience
- Strong networking and Windows Server background
- Experience managing a small team
- Understanding of Exchange connectivity
- Data centre and network design experience
- Experience with BCP procedures and documentation
- DNS management and data centre cross-connects knowledge
- VPN, O365, AD/ADFS familiarity
- Ability to liaise with trading staff and management on IT needs
