Overview

In this role you will own and evolve the company’s hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure, focusing on secure, scalable platforms and automation. You’ll work closely with security, platform and software teams to keep Checkatrade running and ready for growth, while applying AI-driven approaches to reduce manual work. You’ll balance hands-on administration with structured delivery, shaping reliable IT foundations across the business. Responsibilities
  • Administer core platforms (Okta, Google Workspace, AI tools, Jira Service Management, Slack) to support daily operations
  • Build and maintain secure, reliable infrastructure accessible to all teams
  • Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365 and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) including identity and access
  • Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and build workflows with Okta Workflow and Zapier
  • Apply AI-first mindset to IT management and automation
  • Deliver improvements through a structured project lifecycle (scope, plan, sign-off, delivery, review)
  • Collaborate with security, platform and software engineering teams to deliver dependable tools and systems
Key requirements
  • Hands-on experience administering Okta and Google Workspace
  • Experience with endpoint/device management (Kandji, Intune) across macOS, Windows, ChromeOS
  • Proven IT infrastructure management across Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365; strong cloud experience (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
  • Day-to-day administration of Jira Service Management (queues, SLAs, workflow automation)
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python or Bash) and workflow automation (Okta Workflow, Zapier)
  • AI-first mentality in evaluating and administering AI tools for IT problems
  • Experience delivering IT projects through a structured lifecycle; solid networking and security fundamentals (DNS, VPNs, firewalls) and ability to explain technical detail clearly
