IT & Software

IT & Systems Manager

TREAT-NMD

Newcastle Upon Tyne · England · United Kingdom

The IT & Systems Manager is accountable for the delivery, security, resilience and continuous improvement of all IT systems, infrastructure and end-user technology across TREAT-NMD.

The role combines hands-on technical delivery with ownership of strategy, budget, supplier relationships and compliance. You will contribute to setting the IT roadmap, manage the IT support function, and remain personally involved in escalated technical work, systems administration and project delivery.

You will own all ICT equipment, access, logs and replacements, along with the TREAT-NMD Azure and AWS environments and managed security.

You will also act as the technical owner of our ISO 27001 accreditation, leading policy implementation, information security and compliance activity, and supporting audits and certification maintenance.

Working closely with our outsourced data compliance partner, the project team and the external software build engineers, you will help translate developer and supplier language into terms colleagues across the organisation can act on, and ensure the technology architecture, data handling and security arrangements meet both project and organisational requirements.

You will also contribute directly to the software build itself, this is a genuinely innovative product with the potential to make a tangible difference for the NMD Network and the patients and researchers it serves. This contribution matters well beyond the life of the grant. TREAT-NMD intends to take the results of the project forward to their full potential, and the postholder will be central to that continuity, understanding the architecture built to date within the project, contributing to the final build, and taking ownership of its maintenance and future development as a permanent part of our technology internal resource in our team.

The role is on site a minimum of 3 days per week and available for urgent team queries.
