Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking and supportive school in the Bracknell area to appoint a skilled and proactive IT Technician . This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy IT team, supporting both staff and students with technology across the school.
This role would suit a technically minded individual with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering excellent IT support in an educational environment.
The RoleAs an IT Technician , you will be responsible for maintaining the school's IT infrastructure, providing technical support, and ensuring that technology systems operate efficiently to support teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide first and second-line IT support to staff and students
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment
- Support classroom technology, interactive displays, and audiovisual equipment
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions
- Assist with network maintenance and system upgrades
- Maintain IT inventory and asset registers
- Ensure systems remain secure and compliant with data protection policies
- Support the implementation of new technologies across the school
- Liaise with external suppliers and service providers when required
- Previous experience in an IT support or IT Technician role
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Experience working within a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure, networking, and cloud-based systems
- Understanding of safeguarding and data security requirements within education
- Relevant IT qualifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent)
- Experience supporting Apple devices, Chromebooks, or Google Workspace
