We're working with an innovative financial technology business building blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) solutions for financial services.

They're looking for a Back End Developer with strong Java experience to join the team and help build secure, scalable backend systems supporting their DLT platforms.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Developing backend services and APIs using Java
• Building and integrating REST APIs and microservices
• Working with architects on blockchain/DLT integrations
• Designing databases, migrations and optimising queries
• Building scalable, secure and high-performance systems
• Working with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD
• Troubleshooting complex backend and integration issues
• Producing clear technical documentation
• Collaborating with engineering, architecture and product teams

What We’re Looking For

• Strong commercial Java backend development experience
• Solid experience with REST APIs and microservices
• Database development and query optimisation experience
• Understanding of backend security
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Desirable Experience with any of the following would be a bonus:

• Blockchain / DLT - particularly Hyperledger, Corda or Ethereum
• Web3j or other blockchain integration libraries
• Financial services / capital markets
• Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Camunda or Activiti
• Event-driven architectures and DevOps practices
