Java Backend Software Engineer Vancouver

As a Software Engineer II, you will contribute hands-on to design, development, testing, and delivery within Mastercard’s Decision Management program. The platform uses business rules, AI engines, streaming big-data technologies, in-memory data grids, APIs, and user interfaces. You will help deliver scalable decision-based products and support junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java application functionality
• Create unit, integration, and functional tests
• Own features through development, testing, and delivery
• Diagnose technical issues and solve complex problems
• Mentor junior engineers through guidance and knowledge sharing

Requirements:

• Solid Java programming and software development knowledge
• Strong knowledge of Spring and related Java frameworks
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or EasyMock
• Good SQL knowledge and Oracle database experience
• Experience supporting high-performance applications
