Java Developer

Java Developer required for a long-term engagement with competitive rates, supporting and enhancing internal Administration applications. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in the West Midlands, involving live service support, batch processing, testing, and controlled application changes within a complex enterprise environment.

Active SC Clearance preferred; candidates with all essential skills and experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support enterprise Java applications
• Provide live service and incident support
• Write and maintain Oracle SQL queries
• Support batch processing and operational activities
• Manage code and releases using GitLab
• Support containerised applications using Kubernetes
• Work with WebLogic application servers
• Perform manual end-to-end testing
• Support application changes and continuous improvement

Skills & Experience

• SC Clearance preferred
• Strong Java development and support experience
• Experience with GitLab and controlled release processes
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Hands-on WebLogic experience
• Experience supporting live production environments
• Shell scripting experience
• Maven and Linux experience
• Manual testing and documentation experience
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
