Overview

In this role you will join a close-knit team of researchers and engineers to build and support systematic trading models for a sports betting hedge fund. You will collaborate with quantitative researchers and other engineers to tackle scale, data, and real-time processing challenges. The role offers exposure to a modern tech stack and greenfield Java projects within a high-performing environment. You will contribute to impactful, data-driven trading initiatives in London (and Leeds).

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with quantitative researchers and engineers to implement trading models
  • Develop and maintain large-scale distributed Java services
  • Work with messaging/streaming systems (Kafka, AMQ) in an event-driven, microservices context
  • Utilize Kubernetes, AWS, and MongoDB to deploy and operate services
  • Support and improve systems handling high data volumes
Key requirements
  • 1+ years of Java development in a professional setting
  • Exposure to Kafka, AMQ, or similar messaging/streams technology
  • Familiarity with event-driven design and microservice architecture
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems and big data
  • Degree in a relevant field with a strong academic record (Oxbridge 1st class or 2:1)
