Overview

In this Java Developer role, you will build and deploy cloud-native microservices for a fintech product that rewards consumers in retail payments. You’ll work closely with a cross-functional team in a greenfield project, shaping architecture and tooling alongside another team building a mobile app. Expect a highly collaborative, paired programming environment focused on automated testing, quality, and continuous improvement. The position is remote for the foreseeable future, with a London-based client behind a performance-driven, open-culture tech environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test and deploy microservices into AWS
  • Support other business units by querying data and building tooling
  • Collaborate with the full engineering team to improve architecture and processes
  • Prototype new concepts and features leveraging current technology
  • Strive for higher levels of automation and efficiency
  • Engage in pair programming and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to a greenfield project with cross-team coordination
Key requirements
  • At least 2 years of software development experience
  • Proficiency with Java, Spring, and SpringBoot
  • Proficiency with concurrent programming principles and basic design patterns
  • Excellent verbal communication, remote development and problem-solving skills
  • BSc/BA/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
