Overview

In this role you will design, build, and optimize high-throughput microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot, and implement event-driven solutions with Kafka. You will secure RESTful APIs, drive performance improvements, and integrate relational and NoSQL databases. You will contribute across the SDLC, mentor engineers, and influence architectural decisions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput microservices with Java 17+ and Spring Boot
  • Architect and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka, including managing producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and Kafka Streams
  • Build secure RESTful APIs with DTOs, pagination, error handling, and OAuth2/JWT security
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in microservices and Kafka components
  • Design and integrate relational (PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases for scalable backend systems
  • Participate in the full SDLC, conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions

Key requirements
  • 8-10 years of overall progressive Java development experience
  • Strong Agile and Scrum background
  • Proficient in Java 17 and Spring Boot
  • Experience with Kafka, REST APIs, OAuth2/JWT, and CI/CD
  • Database design with PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and MongoDB
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and Atlassian suite (Rally, JIRA, Confluence)
