Overview

In this remote-first Principal role, you stay hands-on while shaping architecture and technical direction for a large, high-throughput platform in telecoms and online payments. You will lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with customers to translate requirements into robust solutions. The role sits in a 16-person R&D team and focuses on backend, cloud, and event-driven systems. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to scale and improve the platform while keeping code quality front and center.

Responsibilities
  • Hands-on backend development (approx. 90%) on a high-throughput platform
  • Shape technical direction, architecture standards, and engineering practices
  • Mentor engineers and foster technical growth within the team
  • Evaluate new technologies and defend/justify architectural choices
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Work with Azure Cloud, microservices, and event-driven architecture to deliver scalable APIs
