Java Lead Software Engineer

In this role you will design and deliver secure, scalable cloud-based payment technology solutions within the Regulatory Reporting team. Responsibilities- End-to-end software delivery for Python-based services, batch jobs, and data pipelines
- Write secure, high-quality Python code with emphasis on performance and testability
- Create design artifacts for complex workflows including orchestration, processing logic, dependencies, failure handling, and SLIs/SLAs
- Analyze data to produce reports, metrics, and visualizations for business insights
- Identify data quality issues, drift, and bottlenecks to drive improvements
- Collaborate in an agile environment delivering projects with ownership and accountability
- Contribute to internal libraries, evaluate new technologies, and support engineering communities
- Leverage enterprise AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed while ensuring secure coding and peer review
- Apply SDLC tooling and automation to maximize value of automation initiatives
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
- Hands-on experience in system design, Python development, testing, and production stability
- Strong Python proficiency for data processing, APIs/services, and scripting
- Experience with data engineering platforms like PySpark, Databricks, Airflow
- Relational databases and SQL; familiarity with NoSQL and data modeling
- Understanding of data lifecycle including ingestion, validation, transformation, storage, governance and lineage
- Ability to develop and maintain code in large enterprise environments with established controls
- Solid understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies
- Familiarity with CI/CD, resiliency, security best practices, and observability
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs, with responsible AI practices
