Java Microservice developer

Location: Edinburgh
Contract: 6 months
Working pattern: Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office
Day Rate: Excellent Day Rate Available

We're looking for a Principal Engineer with strong Java development expertise to join a technical delivery team in Edinburgh. This is an opportunity to contribute to enterprise-level software engineering, shaping solutions that are secure, reliable, scalable and maintainable.

You’ll be involved throughout the development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through to testing, deployment and production support. Working alongside architects, analysts, product owners and fellow engineers, you’ll help deliver robust applications while promoting high engineering standards and supporting the development of junior team members.

Key Skills:

• Java and Spring Boot microservices development
• React Single Page Applications
• API gateway technologies, including Tyk, Apigee or DataPower
• Cloud and application hosting using PCF, TAS or AWS
• Integration and batch processing using StreamSets, Airflow, ESP Services or GSS
• CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Technical design, code reviews and production troubleshooting
