Java Software Engineer

Software Engineer – Systematic Trading - Miller Maxwell is recruiting for an established proprietary trading firm running systematic, algorithmic strategies in futures markets globally. The firm builds its own low-latency trading infrastructure in-house and trades at serious scale.

Miller Maxwell's client is a high-performing trading firm with a strong track record — Software Engineers will be give full exposure across their tech stack. The core platform, high performance real-time trading software utilise Java, C++ and Python technology.

The Software Engineer will:

• Work across the full software engineering lifecycle building and enhancing their real-time trading software.
• Own core projects building and maintaining their core trading platform services: execution, order/position management, market data.
• Work closely with front-office users including Traders and Quants
• Work on latency-critical projects.
• Improve system performance and reliability.

Experience the Software Engineer will bring:

• A STEM related degree
• At least 5 years of commercial Java or C++ Software engineering experience.
• Experience with high-performance software.
• Algorithmic software engineering experience
• Multithreaded software development experience.
• Experience working within financial services is not essential but is preferred.
