Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Microservices Engineer to work on a critical project for one of our leading clients in the banking domain .

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on development experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for building and managing modern, scalable technology applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain high-quality backend applications using Java and Spring Boot .
• Design and develop scalable microservices-based applications .
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and production-ready code.
• Work closely with technical teams, architects, and stakeholders to deliver project requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and application improvements.
• Work with containerized and cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes .
• Ensure applications meet performance, security, reliability, and scalability standards.

Required Technical Skills

• 8–12 years of strong Java development experience
• Java 17 or above
• Spring / Spring Boot
• GitLab
• Oracle Database
• ActiveMQ
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience working in banking/financial services is highly desirable

Candidate Profile

• Senior-level Java developer with strong backend engineering expertise.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application development and microservices.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with 2 days onsite per week in Manchester .
• Passionate about technology and capable of taking ownership of critical development activities.
