Java Backend Engineer - Requirements & Job Description

We are looking for strong Java candidates with knowledge of Apache Flink and experience with AWS services (EKS, S3, etc.) . Our application focuses heavily on file processing .

Required Skills

Core Engineering

• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Ability to write custom frameworks and reusable components.

Data & File Processing

• Hands-on experience with file handling and processing on VSIs and Amazon S3.
• Proven experience with large-file processing at scale.
• Working knowledge of Apache Flink (recommended).
• Hands-on experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as MQ and/or Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native application development.
• Working knowledge of AWS (recommended).
• Experience designing highly resilient, share-nothing, multi-region architectures.

Ways of Working & Tooling

• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and/or Claude.
• Experience working in Agile, self-managing teams.

Job Description

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java backend services.
• Engineer large-scale file handling and processing across VSIs and Amazon S3, and build streaming/batch pipelines with Apache Flink on AWS.
• Deploy on Kubernetes using cloud-native patterns, with share-nothing, multi-region architecture for fault tolerance, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Develop robust REST APIs, enforcing best practices for security, scalability, versioning, documentation, and error handling.
• Integrate and manage service registries for dynamic service discovery in microservices environments.
• Use AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
