Overview

In this Technical Lead role, you will steer the engineering of real-time market data feeds for the Data Lake platform, prioritizing low-latency, high-throughput ingestion. You collaborate with Wholesale Data and Operations Technology to translate business needs into scalable data solutions. You’ll build data quality tooling and governance, ensuring data integrity and reliability across the acquisition chain. You lead architectural discussions, mentor juniors, and push for innovative, secure data infrastructure that stays at the cutting edge.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of the Data Lake platform with optimized ingestion workflows
  • Collaborate with business lines to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Develop data quality tooling and validation mechanisms and monitor data health
  • Architect and implement data validation, monitoring, and remediation processes
  • Drive initiatives to maintain performance, reliability, and security of data infrastructure
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish architectural standards
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance data acquisition and platform performance
  • Lead architectural discussions and key technical design decisions
  • Create and maintain documentation standards, governance frameworks, and best practices
Key requirements
  • Experienced Java Software Engineer with enterprise-grade delivery track record
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Expertise in architecting scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
  • Advanced Java tech stack: Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, microservices, REST
  • Knowledge of market data processing across Fixed Income, Equity, FX
  • Hands-on experience integrating market data feeds from multiple vendor APIs
  • Leadership experience mentoring junior engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with GitLab/GitStash, gitflow; Jenkins, Ansible, CI/CD
