Overview

In this role you join a tight-knit Scrum team building a low-latency, high-volume trading platform for equity and fixed income. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, from specification through production, and work on both greenfield platform design and ongoing enhancements. The role combines desktop and web components, with server-side development on Linux and front-end work in Java, JavaScript and HTML5. This is a technology-led environment that values quality, maintainability and rapid iteration. A key hook is the opportunity to influence critical trading infrastructure in a mature, relaxed team.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in end-to-end development lifecycle from specification to production
  • Design, implement, deploy and maintain a greenfield platform
  • Contribute to static data management, back office tools, and user management
  • Package and support the trading platform
  • Collaborate in a fast-moving, Scrum-driven team in a Linux environment
  • Address bugs early and deliver high-quality, maintainable code
  • Support client-facing activities if desired
Key requirements
  • MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Physics
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, JQuery and HTML or equivalent web skills
  • SQL skills
  • Knowledge of full software development lifecycle from design to testing
  • Experience with source code management tools
