Senior Software Developer (JavaScript / TypeScript)

Cyber Security | £75,000 to £85,000 | Fully remote

Are you a senior JavaScript or TypeScript developer looking to put your skills to work protecting organisations from real threats? This is a chance to join an innovative cyber security company building products that help businesses detect, understand and respond to attacks.

You’ll work in a collaborative engineering team, taking ownership of features from design through to production. Your code will directly shape tools that security teams rely on every day, and your experience will help raise the bar across the team through code reviews, technical discussions and mentoring.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing, building and maintaining scalable applications using TypeScript and JavaScript
• Working across the stack as needed, from APIs and services to user-facing features
• Collaborating with product, design and security specialists to turn complex problems into clean, usable solutions
• Writing well-tested, maintainable code and championing good engineering practice
• Contributing to architectural decisions and the long-term direction of the platform
• Supporting and mentoring other developers

Must haves

• Strong commercial experience with JavaScript and TypeScript at a senior level
• Solid experience with Node.js and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs
• Experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Angular or Vue
• A good understanding of testing practices and tools (e.g. Jest, Cypress, Playwright)
• Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and agile ways of working
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach

Nice to haves

• Interest in or exposure to cyber security, threat detection or secure coding practices
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with event-driven architecture or microservices
• Exposure to data-heavy or real-time applications
• Experience mentoring or leading other developers
