Junior Accountant

HireLoft Recruitment has been engaged by a growing technology company in Mississauga to find a Junior/Intermediate Accountant who wants to own the books, not just process them.

This is a small finance team. You will report directly to the Director of Finance and have real visibility into how the business runs. It is also the right seat for someone who gets frustrated doing things manually and wants a mandate to fix that.

What you will own

• Full cycle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoice processing
• Monthly reconciliations across CAD and USD bank accounts and corporate credit cards
• Corporate card, subscription, and travel expense tracking
• Month-end support: journal entries, accruals, deferred revenue, and reporting
• Clean digital records and audit-ready files for year end and tax
• Identifying and rolling out automation and AI tools to cut manual work out of the finance function

What we are looking for

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
• Strong QuickBooks and advanced Excel
• Solid grounding in accrual accounting and financial statement prep
• Genuine interest and some experience in finance automation, whether that is AP automation, receipt capture, workflow tools, or AI assisted processes
• CPA in progress is an asset, not a requirement

The automation piece matters here

This is the part that sets the role apart. Our client wants someone who will look at a manual process and ask why it is still manual. If you have implemented or championed tools like Dext, Hubdoc, Bill.com, Ramp, or built out Excel and Power Automate workflows to replace repetitive work, lead with that in your application.
