Junior AWS Systems Engineer

Build AWS platform expertise as a Junior Systems Engineer in Vancouver, using Kubernetes and automation to support dependable services.

This Junior Systems Engineer role supports backend and platform services across AWS environments. You will work with Amazon EKS, Ansible, Infrastructure as Code, Node.js, and CI/CD pipelines. The position combines operations, scripting, troubleshooting, and internal tooling while supporting reliability improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, operate, and maintain backend and platform services on AWS
• Support Amazon EKS clusters and containerized workloads
• Build automation with Ansible, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code
• Monitor health, troubleshoot incidents, and analyze root causes
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
• One to three years across backend, systems, or DevOps experience
• Programming or scripting ability, ideally with Node.js
• Working knowledge of Linux administration and Git
• Familiarity with REST APIs and web fundamentals
