Junior Business Analyst

In this role you partner with quantitative researchers and software engineers to translate investment models into actionable technical specs. You manage the requirements lifecycle for equity risk modeling and trading tools, ensuring data integrity across the research pipeline. You design how models and data feed into risk and trading infrastructure, and validate inputs through analysis and prototyping. You work with cross-functional teams to align solutions with the mathematical and business intent of investment professionals, contributing to scalable analytics across portfolios.
Responsibilities- Partner with quantitative research and software engineering teams to translate model specifications into technical requirements
- Manage end-to-end requirements lifecycle for equity risk modeling and trading tools
- Design and oversee integration of quantitative models and datasets into trading/risk infrastructure
- Perform data analysis and prototyping to validate model inputs/outputs and maintain data integrity
- Develop and maintain functional specifications, model logic documentation, data dictionaries, and tool documentation
- Conduct end-user testing and feature validation to ensure alignment with investment professionals' intent
- Conduct discovery to understand asset classes and emerging technologies in fundamental and quantitative investing
- Two to five years of sell-side experience
- At least two years of experience with software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies
- Strong understanding of asset pricing and quantitative factor risk modeling workflows
- Experience working with portfolio researchers and software engineers
- Strong SQL and Python skills for data analysis and prototyping
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence
