Junior Business Data Analyst Co-op

Build business analytics experience at Nexus Energy through MySQL, Python, automation, and data analysis in a Winter 2027 co-op. Support business users across Settlements, Accounting, Sales, and Trading.

This supervised, entry-level student placement connects business, data, and technology. You will clarify requirements, investigate discrepancies, improve workflows, and support system changes. The internship also includes an energy market forecasting project using historical data, modeling approaches, and accuracy metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bridge IT teams and business users across four departments
• Gather and prioritize business and technical requirements
• Retrieve, reconcile, and analyze data with MySQL
• Automate recurring tasks using Python scripts and tools
• Investigate issues and implement practical solutions

Requirements:

• Current enrollment in a related university or college program
• Working knowledge of MySQL joins, aggregations, and subqueries
• Working knowledge of Python for analysis and automation
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
