Junior Data Engineer

In this role you will help design and maintain data pipelines and the data warehouse for West and North London ICB. You will collaborate with the Data Engineering and Data Management team to integrate datasets, run quality checks, and adapt pipelines to changing data specifications. You will contribute to a performance-focused culture delivering high-quality information for analytics, benchmarking, and forecasting. This opportunity offers hands-on development of data engineering skills within a multi-disciplinary team and a mission to reduce health inequalities through better data and reporting.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines into the data warehouse
- Monitor, log and investigate data quality issues and data breaches/incidents
- Maintain the data dictionary covering datasets, sources, frequency, and latency
- Collaborate across teams to gather requirements for new/changed data feeds
- Automate processes to improve workflows and reduce manual effort
- Interrogate production databases to address issues and ensure data reliability
- Support the development of Snowflake apps and data products
- Contribute to data quality reports and management reporting for analytics teams
- Significant demonstrable information management and technology experience
- Experience with data acquisition, ingestion, storage and processing in a data warehouse
- Experience with SQL, Snowflake, Tableau and PowerBI
- Experience documenting complex procedures
- Educated to degree in Mathematics or IT or equivalent NHS experience
