Junior Data Machine Learning Specialist

Build trustworthy sensor datasets in Calgary as a Junior Data and Machine Learning Specialist using Python, SQL, and practical machine learning. This hybrid contract role works onsite about three times weekly.

At Bells of Steel, you will support a training app and wearable research program for strength-training equipment. You will work with the founder, engineers, coaches, and full-stack developer. The work centers on sensor recordings, workout logs, reference measurements, and findings that can be tested. New graduates and candidates with one to three years of experience are welcome.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build Python and SQL tools for sensor recordings and workout logs
• Maintain traceable datasets with labels, consent, timestamps, and versions
• Run collection checklists and catch missing samples or timing errors
• Build documented machine learning baselines with reproducible configurations
• Write error reports and maintain interfaces for the app team

Requirements:

• Practical Python, data wrangling, SQL, and Git experience
• Foundation in statistics, machine learning, validation, and overfitting
• At least one substantial project from work, research, study, or personal building
• Ability to explain what results do and do not show
• Experience with iOS and Android development
