Junior Developer

As a Junior Developer, you will help build and maintain the cloud platform behind Spirax's connected industrial products, handling telemetry, time-series calculations, and providing results to engineers and customers. You will pair with seniors, contribute to a growing codebase, and learn through code reviews and guided onboarding. The role blends backend, frontend, and data-pipeline work on a scalable, Azure-centered stack with a strong emphasis on learning and collaboration. You will contribute to decarbonisation efforts by turning sensor data into actionable insights.

• Build and maintain backend features in C# / .NET or TypeScript with tests
• Develop frontend components in React and TypeScript from ticket/design through PR
• Help develop data pipelines to decode telemetry and compute engineering values
• Write and run automated tests and treat failures as information
• Participate in code reviews as author and reviewer
• Deploy work through CI/CD pipelines and understand environments
• Investigate and fix defects with mentoring
• Contribute to design discussions and maintain documentation

• Around 2–3 years of commercial software development experience or equivalent
• Solid grounding in at least one modern language (C# or TypeScript)
• Understanding of web app concepts: HTTP, REST APIs, JSON, and databases
• Working knowledge of Git and pull-request workflow
• Experience with automated tests and their importance
• Clear written communication and ability to work on a remote team
• Genuine interest in cloud engineering (Azure preferred but not required)
