Junior Developer

As a Junior Developer in BRE's Digital Services team, you will contribute to web-based applications and services within an Agile Scrum setting. You will work closely with senior colleagues to deliver new features aligned to the product roadmap, participating across the development lifecycle from requirements to deployment. The role offers learning and increasing responsibility as you grow into delivering high‑quality solutions for BRE's customers. • Develop, maintain and improve web-based applications and services
• Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners and Designers within an Agile Scrum team
• Translate requirements into secure, robust and high-quality code
• Contribute to sprint planning, estimation and delivery activities
• Develop and maintain database components, including stored procedures and views
• Create and consume RESTful web services and APIs
• Support testing activities, including creating and executing test plans
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects and technical issues
• Provide regular updates on progress, risks and delivery timelines
• Follow BRE development standards, processes and best practices

• Understanding of web application development
• Experience with JavaScript and jQuery
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including databases, stored procedures and views
• Understanding of RESTful web services and APIs
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and development methodologies
• Exposure to design patterns such as dependency injection and service-oriented architecture
• Understanding of ORM frameworks
• Familiarity with Agile development environments and Scrum practices
• Experience testing software and supporting quality assurance activities
