Reporting to the Manager of IT and Enterprise Services, and working closely within a team environment, the Junior Helpdesk Associate plays a key role in supporting the audiovisual systems during the Town of Lincoln's Council meetings. Additionally, the role involves assisting withservice requests such as troubleshooting hardware and software issues, addressing user inquiries, and escalating more complex problems to senior team members. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow in the IT field, with a focus on providing exceptional service and support to end-users.
The Successful Candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Has or is working towards a post-secondary diploma in IT Support, or similar.
- Basic understanding of IT systems, workstation hardware, and software applications.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, strong customer service skills and political acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and participate collaboratively in a team environment
- Has the ability to remain effective in stressful situations.
- Excellent oral, written communication skills and email etiquette
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; with the ability to exercise discretion regarding sensitive or confidential information as required
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Must be willing and able to work evening shifts, including but not limited to Monday evenings.
Hours and shifts may vary; but will primarily take place during the evenings. The maximum hours for this position are 48 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $20.37.
