Overview

In this role you will support the Journalism, Media, Culture and Creative Industries students by managing the issue, return and maintenance of audio, video and multimedia equipment. You will run equipment loans, advise on portable media gear, and keep the kit room organized to support teaching and learning. Working with SCC, BMS and IT colleagues, you’ll enable smooth media delivery and demonstrations. This role offers hands-on experience in media production tech within a university setting and room to learn and grow.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, maintain and issue AV equipment to students and staff using the SiSo booking system
  • Provide demonstrations, advice and basic technical support on specialist media equipment
  • Maintain equipment to a high standard and support loan/return processes
  • Administer equipment bookings and keep the kit room organised and ready for teaching activities
  • Collaborate with SCC, BMS and IT colleagues to support learning activities
Key requirements
  • Good understanding of audio, video and multimedia equipment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Confident supporting students and able to work as part of a team
  • Organised, proactive and willing to learn
  • Experience in a media equipment environment is desirable but not essential
