Overview
In this role you support the maintenance and development of a Linux-centric estate across hosts, VMs, containers, and storage. You will help refine monitoring, automation, and security while embracing open source to drive performance. You’ll influence architecture through prototyping and collaboration with the development team. This is an opportunity to grow within a progressive fintech environment in London, shaping scalable infrastructure.

- Maintain and develop Linux/Windows estates, VMs, containers, networking devices, databases and storage
- Proactively respond to monitoring alerts and contribute to the monitoring platform
- Drive automation across the environment
- Implement and enforce system and network security policies
- Identify and promote best practices with a focus on Open Source options
- Prototype and evangelize new technologies to help shape the architecture
- Solid understanding of Linux, preferably Ubuntu/Debian-based distributions
- Experience with configuration management (Puppet)
- Scripting in Shell, Python or Ruby
- Some networking experience (switching, routing, TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP)
- Degree-level education with some SysAdmin experience
