Junior Software Developer – Industrial Data & Automation

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $80,000–$110,000+ CAD , based on experience

TeamBuilders Consulting is seeking an experienced Software Developer – Industrial Data & Automation for their client, a growing technology and engineering organization.

This is an opportunity for a software or data professional who enjoys turning complex data into practical applications, dashboards, and solutions . You’ll work with industrial data from SCADA systems, equipment, historians, and connected systems to acquire, transform, contextualize, and visualize information that supports real-world operations.

What You’ll Do

• Develop software applications, dashboards, reports, and data solutions
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL
• Work with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, TimescaleDB , and industrial historians
• Develop data visualizations and user interfaces
• Design ETL/ELT pipelines and analytics solutions
• Integrate systems using APIs and protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, controls teams, and clients
• Troubleshoot and support deployed solutions
• Improve delivery through automation, templates, and repeatable processes
• Contribute to modern data platform architecture and solution design

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, analytics, or a related field
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Demonstrated experience with dashboards, data visualization, or reporting
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, or system integrations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn
• Applied Data Analytics certification highly preferred

Industrial automation experience is a plus, but not required. The organization is willing to develop the right candidate's knowledge of the industrial environment.
