Overview

As a Junior Trading Systems Engineer you will help manage and improve the Linux-based trading infrastructure that powers global, low-latency trading. You’ll work with the Trading Systems Infrastructure team on high-availability, high-throughput projects in a real-time production environment. You’ll tackle challenging technical issues and contribute to an elegant automation stack, supporting 24/7 trading operations. This role offers hands-on exposure to scalable systems, cutting-edge tooling, and cross-functional collaboration that shapes our trading platform.

Responsibilities
  • Manage worldwide Linux-based trading infrastructure and contribute to complex technical projects
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the stack
  • Plan and implement system installations and upgrades
  • Deploy, configure, and test internal and external applications
  • Improve documentation and reduce technical debt
  • Benchmark trading stack performance with SMEs across the organization
  • Join on-call rotation to cover trading hours and weekends as needed
Key requirements
  • 2+ years of experience managing Linux systems (package installation, user management, services, logs)
  • Familiarity with installing and configuring Linux systems from hardware to applications
  • Knowledge of Debian/Ubuntu is desirable
  • Basic experience with configuration management tools (SaltStack preferred; Puppet/Ansible/CFEngine desirable)
  • Proven programming experience and ability to defend design decisions
  • Basic shell scripting (bash)
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Strong cross-functional communication and organization skills
  • Desirable experience with production systems and cloud (AWS or GCP)
