KDB Software Engineer III

In this role you will contribute as a core technical team member to build trusted market-leading technology for Equities Trading Data & Analytics. You will work with cross-functional partners to design, develop, and scale KDB-based solutions that handle large options datasets in real time and historically, while migrating infrastructure to AWS. You’ll drive secure, production-grade code and participate in an agile delivery cadence to support critical business objectives. Responsibilities- Execute creative software solutions and troubleshoot complex problems
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others' code
- Contribute to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
- Develop core systems and frameworks based on KDB
- Build scalable real-time processing solutions using agile methods
- Partner with stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver solutions
- Collaborate with application support teams to maintain the platform
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Understanding of KDB technology and Q language with at least 2 years of professional experience
- Understanding of KDB+ tick design and data organization, performance implications of different approaches
- Practical experience handling large datasets and optimizing query performance
- Practical experience building resilient and high-availability KDB applications
