In this Kubernetes-focused role, you’ll build and operate scalable, secure platform infrastructure to support cutting-edge research and trading workloads. You work with researchers, engineers, and traders to deliver automated, observable systems that meet current needs while enabling growth. You’ll join a London-based engineering team shaping platforms that accelerate discovery and innovation with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance. Responsibilities
  • Design and operate custom Kubernetes operators/controllers to automate infrastructure beyond off-the-shelf solutions
  • Guarantee multi-tenant security and isolation with RBAC and OPA/Gatekeeper
  • Engineer GitOps-driven CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, FluxCD) for safe, auditable changes
  • Drive Infrastructure as Code practices with Terraform and Helm for reliable builds
  • Embed observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry to measure and ensure reliability
  • Stay ahead of Kubernetes evolution by testing and adopting new versions/features early
  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and traders to refine requirements and improve developer experience
  • Contribute to on-call rotation, own incidents, and share responsibility in a no-blame culture
  • Capture and share knowledge through runbooks, postmortems, and design documentation
Key requirements
  • Strong Linux system engineering background
  • Go or Python programming ability, with experience building Kubernetes operators/controllers
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes internals (CRDs, RBAC, custom controllers, scheduler extensions)
  • Hands-on with Helm and GitOps workflows
  • Experience implementing multi-tenant security controls in Kubernetes (namespace isolation, network policies, Open Policy Agent)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex performance and reliability issues
  • Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
