Kubernetes Platform Engineer

As a Kubernetes Engineer, you design, deploy and troubleshoot complex Kubernetes infrastructures at scale. You work across deployment strategies (Helm, GitOps, self-hosted or managed services) and oversee service mesh adoption (Linkerd, Istio, Consul, or alternatives). You optimise containerised applications for performance, scalability and reliability while building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments. You handle infrastructure as code and automation, and contribute to on-prem to cloud migrations. This role offers hybrid work with funded training opportunities to stay at the forefront of Kubernetes tech.

- Design, deploy and troubleshoot Kubernetes infrastructures at scale
- Implement and manage service mesh (Linkerd, Istio, Consul, or others)
- optimise performance, scalability and reliability of containerised apps
- develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
- drive automation and scripting across environments (IaC)
- use infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Bicep) depending on project

- participate in training, conferences and certifications, funded by the company
- Kubernetes expertise with hands-on design/operational experience
- experience with Helm and GitOps deployment patterns
- familiarity with service mesh technologies (Linkerd, Istio, Consul)
- strong IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Bicep)
- proficiency in scripting and automation
- Linux proficiency and ability to work in mixed on-prem/cloud environments
- experience with CI/CD automation and pipeline tooling
- ability to operate in a hybrid/remote-friendly setup
