Overview

As a Senior PHP Full Stack Developer, you will shape a Laravel-based platform and drive architectural improvements. You’ll own core service logic, background processing, and third-party integrations while working in a compact, office-based team. The role emphasizes delivering scalable backend services and cohesive frontend tooling within a modern, containerised setup. You will collaborate across DevOps, QA, and product teams to improve reliability, testing, and deployment. This position offers high ownership and influence over technical direction in a hands-on, result-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop backend services in a Laravel environment that are scalable and maintainable
  • Own service-layer logic to support integrations and business operations
  • Improve queue handling, reliability, traceability, and error management for asynchronous processes
  • Collaborate with DevOps and QA to support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • Maintain and optimise local development and Docker-based environments, including queue workers
  • Identify and resolve technical debt to improve platform stability and production readiness
  • Support system integrations with third-party services and internal APIs
  • Contribute to code quality through peer reviews and consistent development patterns
  • Assist with frontend tooling and workflows for UI components (Livewire, TailwindCSS, Vite)
  • Stay up to date with Laravel ecosystem developments and contribute to technical improvements
Key requirements
  • Strong commercial experience with PHP (8.0+) and Laravel (10+)
  • Experience across full stack including Blade, Livewire, Vite, TailwindCSS, Node
  • Solid database design and MySQL; Redis for caching and queues
  • Experience with Docker and docker-compose
  • Hands-on background job processing and queue workflows
  • Familiarity with Git workflows, PRs, and peer code reviews
  • Testing and QA exposure, ideally PHPUnit and CI practices
  • Ability to work independently on larger tasks while contributing to technical direction
