Lead Accountant

Job Title: Accounting Lead

Job Type : Contract

Duration: 3 months

Location : NewBrunswick (onsite)

Job Description:

• Lead and coordinate projects related to Fixed Asset Accounting activities, including asset capitalization, transfers, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, and dependencies across multiple teams and business units.
• Act as the primary point of contact between Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings, track action items, and ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule.
• Monitor and resolve issues related to fixed asset processes, reporting, and system enhancements.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end fixed asset accounting activities as needed.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, and governance materials.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fixed asset accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting and project management.
• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, capitalization, depreciation, and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar) and Microsoft Office tools.
