• £640 per day via Umbrella
• Remote working, with occasional visits to the client site in London – currently every other Tuesday
• Active SC clearance required
• Initial contract until the end of March 2027
• Leading AI architecture and solution discovery for Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) modernisation

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is exploring how emerging AI technologies can enhance cyber security operations, improve threat detection and streamline security investigation processes. This role will help shape the technical direction of an AI-enabled SOC, assessing existing platforms and identifying secure, practical opportunities to introduce AI.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Lead AI Solutions Architect to define the target architecture, assess emerging AI capabilities and develop a roadmap for implementation within a complex cyber security environment.

THE LEAD AI SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT ROLE

As Lead AI Solutions Architect, you'll lead the technical discovery and assessment of AI opportunities across an established Cyber Security Operations Centre. You'll evaluate existing security technologies and data platforms, identify viable AI use cases, and define a secure target architecture and implementation roadmap.

Working with cyber security specialists, technical teams and senior stakeholders, you'll determine where AI can deliver measurable value, assess technical feasibility and ensure proposed solutions meet security, privacy and assurance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing existing SOC architecture, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, threat intelligence and case management platforms.
• Evaluating data availability, quality and suitability for AI-enabled security use cases.
• Identifying and prioritising AI opportunities across alert triage, threat investigation, incident summarisation, detection engineering and reporting.
• Assessing suitable AI approaches, including machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, RAG, assistants and agentic AI.
• Defining secure architecture and integration patterns across AI services, APIs, data platforms and existing cyber security tools.
• Evaluating AI risks, including hallucinations, prompt injection, sensitive-data exposure and inappropriate autonomous actions.
• Establishing human-in-the-loop controls, security assurance requirements and responsible AI considerations.
• Producing feasibility assessments, build-versus-buy analysis, technical recommendations, risk assessments and an implementation roadmap.

LEAD AI SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Proven experience in AI solution architecture, technical design and architecture discovery.
• Strong knowledge of generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic AI patterns.
• Understanding of cyber security operations and SOC environments.
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, threat intelligence or related security tooling.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, APIs, integration patterns and cloud-based AI platforms.
• Experience assessing technical feasibility, solution options, dependencies and implementation risks.
• Knowledge of AI security, privacy, assurance and responsible AI principles.
• Understanding of human-in-the-loop controls and safeguards for AI-enabled systems.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical options clearly.
