Lead AI Technical Architect

As Lead AI Technical Architect, you will steer the architecture and delivery of GBG’s AI and automation transformation. You will translate business opportunities into practical, scalable technical solutions and establish reusable patterns across the organisation. You’ll lead a central AI & Automation engineering team and ensure security, governance and measurable business impact. • Lead the architecture and solution design for AI and automation initiatives across GBG
• Assess technical approaches (AI, automation, integration, workflow optimisation) and carve reusable patterns
• Provide technical leadership to the AI & Automation engineering team including contractors
• Own technical estimates, quality, and delivery readiness; stay involved in prototyping and reviews
• Plan technical delivery with project managers and manage dependencies with milestones
• Collaborate with business owners, SMEs, Data, Technology and Infosec to meet security and governance requirements
• Establish engineering standards for testing, reliability, monitoring, deployment and support
• Evaluate platforms and third-party solutions to promote reuse and avoid complexity
• Ensure production deployment with documentation and operational ownership
• Develop internal engineering capability through coaching and knowledge sharing
• Measure solution performance to realise expected business benefits

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise AI and automation solutions
• Strong solution architecture covering AI, automation, integration, APIs and cloud
• Hands-on AI experience with LLMs, RAG, AI-assisted workflows or agentic capabilities
• Delivery-focused with ownership of technical outcomes
• Enterprise automation experience and cross-system integration
• Engineering leadership with architectural direction and active delivery
• Ability to design reusable, scalable solutions across processes
• Understanding of infosec, data protection, governance controls
• Experience in complex enterprise environments with multiple platforms
• Clear communication of technical concepts to business stakeholders
• Hands-on experience with MS Azure, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Python, .NET (or similar)
• Microsoft Foundry Experience (Azure AI Studio) desirable
