Lead Analyst

In this role you will shape SPEN’s regulatory strategy to enable over £10bn of transmission investment in Scotland. You will collaborate across the business and with regulators to deliver price controls, policy projects, and industry responses that support government and Ofgem targets. You’ll stay ahead of regulatory developments and communicate key issues internally to drive timely decision-making. • Lead strategic regulatory projects and develop SPEN’s regulatory narrative for price controls
• Engage with Ofgem and other external stakeholders to advocate economics-related positions
• Prepare regulatory submissions and responses to industry consultations
• Interpret complex regulatory policy areas and translate them for internal stakeholders
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across SPEN and the regulatory/policy team
• Monitor regulatory and policy developments and communicate implications to the business

• Experience in economics, regulation, commercial or policy roles within energy
• Ability to prioritise a diverse workload and lead projects with minimal supervision
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills at multiple levels
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills with evidence-based argumentation
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills; experience with AI tools advantageous
