Overview

As Lead Appian Consultant, you will steer enterprise Appian delivery within multidisciplinary teams to modernise operations via low-code automation. You’ll shape architecture, guide delivery, and mentor consultants while partnering with senior stakeholders to implement scalable Appian solutions. The role blends hands-on development with strategic leadership and governance across programs. You’ll contribute to Valtech’s Appian practice growth and stay at the forefront of Appian and AI-enabled automation. Responsibilities
  • Lead design and architecture of enterprise Appian solutions ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability
  • Provide technical direction across delivery teams and govern project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, product managers, and engineers to balance business and technical objectives
  • Facilitate technical discussions, challenge assumptions, and support technology decision making
  • Lead Agile delivery teams, support sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and continuous improvement
  • Coach and mentor consultants to develop capability and foster high-performing culture
  • Own application quality, performance, and operational resilience including deployments and production support
  • Contribute to growth of Valtech's Appian practice via pre-sales, proposals, accelerators, and community involvement
  • Pursue continuous learning on Appian capabilities, AI automation, and modern engineering practices
Key requirements
  • Proven leadership of enterprise-scale Appian delivery programmes in complex consulting environments
  • Experience architecting Appian applications across Records, Record Types, Relationships, SAIL, Process Models, Sites, Reports, and CDTs
  • Strong SQL, relational database, data modelling, and decision-making on database vs. application layer
  • Design experience for enterprise integration architectures across Connected Systems with build-vs-buy considerations
  • Planning for scalability, proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and CI/CD across environments
  • Proven ability to work across blended teams and represent delivery approach to external stakeholders
  • Strong Appian security knowledge and platform governance across multiple applications
  • Experience owning deployment workflows and CI/CD strategy across programs
  • Experience leading Agile Scrum teams, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical leadership
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to mentor and lead technical teams
  • Experience contributing to pre-sales, solution design, proposals or technical bid responses
