Overview

In this lead automation role with a global financial markets client, you own the end-to-end automation of 350+ manual operational tasks, primarily using Python and AWS. You’ll partner with operations and business teams to map workflows, design resilient automation, and reduce risk and manual effort. The work centers on building production-ready solutions that integrate with existing tools like Control-M and AWS services. This position offers impact by modernizing spreadsheet- and legacy-based processes and improving operational resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Own manual operational processes from concept to delivery
  • Engage with operations or business teams to capture workflows and requirements
  • Develop production automation using Python, AWS Lambda, and Step Functions
  • Reduce operational risk and manual effort through intelligent automation
Key requirements
  • Ownership of an automation project from concept to delivery (critical)
  • Stakeholder engagement with operations/business teams (critical)
  • Operational automation experience with scheduling/operational tools (critical)
  • Understanding of operational workflows and design for maintainable, observable solutions
  • Good level of Python with hands-on production experience
  • Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, APIs/EventBridge)
  • Data pipelines understanding and scripting proficiency
  • Foundational Infrastructure as Code knowledge (Terraform, CloudFormation)
