Overview

In this role you will lead the architectural direction and technical strategy for clients and Hippo’s Managed Services. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, shaping standards and driving transformation across multiple projects. You will mentor DevOps engineers, guide complex engagements, and contribute to pre-sales and thought leadership. This is a high-impact, consultative leadership position in a collaborative, agile environment with a focus on secure, scalable, well-engineered platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Define and evangelise architectural vision, standards, and best practices across Hippo’s delivery practice
  • Serve as trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, guiding long-term technical strategy
  • Lead complex technical engagements with oversight and quality assurance for automated infrastructure
  • Mentor and coach DevOps and senior engineers to grow skills and impact
  • Drive pre-sales and bid responses, shaping new opportunities
  • Contribute to thought leadership through public speaking, writing, and community engagement
  • Make key architectural decisions affecting multiple projects/clients
  • Lead recruitment for engineers to strengthen the Managed Services/DevOps community
Key requirements
  • Senior-level DevOps/Technical Architect experience with a track record of large-scale digital transformations
  • Expert proficiency with AWS and multi-cloud architecture design
  • Python proficiency for automation and scripting
  • Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS) and advanced CI/CD tooling
  • Infrastructure-as-Code expertise with Terraform
  • Ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and communicate effectively
  • Security, networking, and governance knowledge in cloud contexts
  • Consultancy experience including pre-sales and business growth
  • Mastery of Agile methods across distributed teams
  • Eligible for SC Clearance
