Lead Business Analyst

In this role, you will lead the assessment, discovery and technical analysis of new initiatives entering the Product & Technology portfolio. You’ll partner with Product, Technology, Data and other business teams to ensure initiatives are well-scoped, feasible and ready for prioritisation. As the portfolio’s lead BA, you’ll establish best practices, mentor analysts and help teams make informed investment and delivery decisions. You will shape change delivery to support the FT’s strategic objectives and drive impactful outcomes. This is a collaborative, cross-functional role at a globally recognised media organisation.

- Lead the assessment and triage of new change initiatives entering the Product & Technology portfolio
- Facilitate discovery workshops to understand business needs, outcomes and requirements
- Produce high-quality business, functional and non-functional requirements for solution design
- Partner with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers and Delivery teams to assess options, feasibility and complexity
- Identify risks, dependencies, assumptions and constraints early in the change lifecycle
- Support business case development and portfolio prioritisation with clear analysis and recommendations
- Contribute to portfolio planning with insights on effort, resources and roadmap sequencing
- Build trusted relationships across Product, Technology, Editorial, Commercial, Data and Corporate teams
- Define and champion business analysis standards, tools and practices
- Coach and mentor other Business Analysts and drive process improvement across intake and discovery processes
- Significant experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst in technology, digital product or transformation environments
- Extensive experience leading discovery, requirements gathering and solution assessment
- Strong analytical ability to translate complex business and technical challenges into clear requirements
- Experience working with engineering, architecture, product and delivery teams throughout the change lifecycle
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, systems integration and modern technology platforms
- Experience supporting business cases, investment decisions and portfolio planning
