Overview

In this role you will lead the development of market-leading insurance pricing solutions within a close-knit Scrum team. You’ll design and deliver high-quality C#/.NET software, focusing on reliability, performance and maintainability, while mentoring junior engineers. You’ll collaborate with the Product Owner, testers and peers to refine the backlog and ship features that impact pricing capabilities at scale. This position offers a hands-on, impact-driven path with opportunities to shape architecture and engineering practices.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Product Owner to refine and deliver the product backlog
  • Design and document software solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements
  • Implement and refactor C#/.NET code with maintainability, testability and performance in mind
  • Implement unit tests and develop test frameworks with automated test cases
  • Review and debug code to identify defects, bottlenecks or technical debt
  • Work with test engineers to ensure adequate test coverage and assist with manual testing when needed
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and continuously improve team velocity and engineering practices
  • Mentor junior team members and lead key activities
Key requirements
  • Proficient in C#/.NET
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle in a production environment
  • Knowledge of OO design, design patterns, SOLID, Agile/XP
  • Experience with development tools (IDEs, version control, test automation, CI, defect/backlog systems)
  • Ability to coordinate daily development and bug-fixing activities
  • Ability to design high-performance, scalable architectures that are testable and maintainable
  • GUI design/implementation with WPF or WinForms
  • Awareness of current and emerging technologies, Azure DevOps and Git
  • Experience with unit and GUI test automation frameworks (MS Test)
  • Azure and cloud technologies
  • Passion for maths, statistics and complex algorithms
  • General knowledge of the Insurance Industry
  • Degree-educated in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
