- The Senior Cloud & Platform Engineering Lead will own and drive the design, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise cloud platforms and migration initiatives. This role plays a critical part in advancing LSEG Post Trade’s cloud strategy, with a strong focus on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), automation, and cloud-native engineering
- You will lead high-performing engineering teams, shape platform strategy, and ensure secure, scalable, and resilient cloud services. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical depth and strategic influence across engineering, architecture, and business partners
- Lead the design, build, and optimisation of AWS-based cloud platforms, including EKS, Kubernetes, networking, identity, and observability capabilities supporting enterprise-scale workloads
- Drive cloud migration programmes end-to-end, including application assessment, readiness analysis, refactoring strategies, and transition planning
- Shape and deliver platform roadmaps, enabling scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient cloud operations
- Champion automation-first engineering, using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) and GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines to improve consistency and speed
- Ensure platform reliability, security, and compliance, embedding engineering standards, architectural patterns, and governance controls across all workloads
- Enable hybrid-cloud integration, supporting selective adoption of Azure services where required
- Collaborate across architecture, security, and operations teams to enforce platform guardrails and guidelines
- Lead and develop engineering teams, encouraging a culture of ownership, learning, and continuous improvement
- Coordinate sprint planning, prioritisation, and delivery execution across multiple engineering streams
- Represent Cloud & Platform Engineering in governance, architecture, and programme forums
- Act as the focal point for complex cloud and Kubernetes challenges, making informed technical and operational decisions
Deep expertise in AWS services, including EKS, IAM, networking, compute, observability, and securityStrong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container platforms, including cluster operations and workload optimisationSolid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures, networking, identity, and security controlsDemonstrated success leading cloud transformation and migration programmesExperience applying SRE principles, observability frameworks, and managing distributed systems at scaleProven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps toolingAbility to translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiencesComfortable operating in fast-paced, enterprise-scale environments with multiple prioritiesProven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams, delivering complex cloud initiativesStrong customer management skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across diverse teamsKubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD) and DevOps/SRE certifications beneficialAzure certifications advantageous but not requiredA Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experienceAWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) preferred
