Lead Cyber Security Engineer - FinTech

In this role you will own security engineering for a fast-growing FinTech, shaping security architecture as the business scales. You will tackle network security and cross-functional security improvements, while partnering with an outsourced SOC/MDR to ensure monitoring and escalation are effective. You will drive initiatives like SASE and SOC 2 compliance and communicate risks clearly to stakeholders. This senior, hands-on role offers ownership and meaningful security improvements in a collaborative environment.

• Own day-to-day security engineering and improvements to existing controls
• Develop and evolve security architecture as the business scales
• Lead network security efforts (firewalls, secure connectivity, access controls, Zero Trust)
• Oversee endpoint hardening, vulnerability management, IAM, cloud security, and internal controls
• Coordinate with outsourced SOC/MDR to ensure effective monitoring and escalation
• Progress initiatives such as SASE and SOC 2 compliance
• Communicate risks and recommendations to stakeholders and drive security awareness through training
• Operate as a senior individual contributor with ownership and initiative

• Experience in Financial Services with knowledge of governance, risk and compliance
• Deep networking and infrastructure security experience (firewalls, secure networking, network layer controls)
• Knowledge of IAM, endpoint security, hardening and vulnerability management
• Understanding of cloud security with ability to develop further (GCP)
• Experience improving security controls, architecture and operational processes
• Familiarity with outsourced SOC/MDR, Zero Trust, SASE or SOC 2
• Excellent communication skills to explain risks to non-technical stakeholders
• Proactive, commercially aware with ability to drive improvements independently
• Degree educated in a STEM discipline
